Essential Oils

Essential Oils have been employed throughout the ages for their restorative, healing properties.  Lavender oil in particular is known as one of the most healing treatments for damaged skin.  It is important to note that all Essential Oils are not the same.  The best essential oils are organically cultivated.  When choosing essential oils you may want to use those that are considered therapeutic-grade.  When applied topically -- during massage for example -- essential oils are absorbed into the skin .  They may also be diffused into the air -- this is called aromatherapy -- using a nebulizer or heated in a container over a candle flame.

While essential oils have been used over the millenia as healing and spiritual aids, some oils can be dangerous, cause allergic reactions, and in some cases death.  Therefore, you should educate yourself prior to using essential oils, or visit a practitioner who has been trained in the use of essential oils.

There are many producers and companies that sell essential oils.  We use Young Living Oils, http://www.youngliving.us/, because they are organically grown and widely distributed.
